10 NFT drops I’m watching in November 👀
Brave New World
November 1 – @ForeverProjs
A drop featuring dope pieces from 11 artists working in various genres, some of whom you might already be familiar with - including Mint or Skip regulars like Roope Rainisto, Ivona Tau and Rudxane.
It’s being hosted by Forever Projects, an official Foundation curation house that’s sold out all 8 collections it has released since September, amassing over 20 ETH in primary sales.
Let’s see if they can keep the streak going.
Bit Rot
November 2 – @Nahiiko
A supremely clever generative art collection made of up hundreds (and potentially millions) of CC0 NFTs, including Moonbirds, Goblintown, Cryptoadz and others.
The code itself is fully onchain, but many of the NFTs included are using less-durable solutions like private servers.
Over time they’ll disappear as their links fail, leaving us with increasingly broken mosaics that show us first-hand why NFT permanence matters.
HAHA and Over-time
November 2-3 – @hahajohnx
Two new Verse drops from John Provencher, who’s coming off of the popular LORE collection released earlier this month.
The first is HAHA: a generative program for a receipt printer highlighting our transactional nature (there’s an actual printer on display in London this week).
The second is Over-Time: generative pixelated animations that reflect on the evolution of web interfaces.
For the more conceptual collectoooors.
XCOPY RarePass Airdrop
November 3 – @XCOPYART
The very last airdrop for SuperRare’s RarePass, concluding on its 1-year anniversary since minting for 17 ETH each.
The drop happens at about the same time as XCOPY makes his first major solo release in a while (more on that below), follows the much talked about Contractual Obligations by Matt Kane and has a hefty price tag of 8 ETH (the current RarePass price).
Still, it’s a tough one to fade.
ALGO BRO
This week – @xcopyart
MFers act like they forgot about XCOPY.
Well, he’s back (two in a row on this list), and he’s gearing up for his first major solo release since closing out his SuperRare set in February.
Why this drop is interesting:
They’re fully onchain XCOPY artworks (a rare species)
It looks like he used ChatGPT at some point in making these (curious)
According to his website, it’s the debut piece for a whole new FRESH HELL collection (exciting)
This one is fully token-gated for existing XCOPY holders (no public).
North Star
November 6 – @jakejfried
Transient labs 🤝 Jake Fried
What happens when one of the most prolific NFT dev studios teams up with one of the space’s favorite artists?
You get a psychedelic, hand-drawn, 5-second animation built on a contract that lets holders update their own NFT’s artwork by selecting frames from that animation (or other remixed images that get added over time).
One for those who like living on the ~cutting edge~.
In Conversation With
November 7 – @verse_works
One of, if not THE biggest winner in NFT art platforms this year, Verse, will have a big exhibition next week with In Conversation With, a generative art showcase for the Paris Photo Fair.
The full sales details are scattered right now. Among other things, though, it’ll include a new long-form collection from Matt DesLauriers (Meridian, anyone?) and new pieces by Mario Klingemann, the creator of Botto.
Probablemente nada.
And The Absurd Was Born
November 10 – @luispon_c
It might not get trippier than Luis Ponce. See for yourself.
The artist has been enjoying a good moment, building momentum with collectors and selling at both Christie’s and Sotheby’s.
This time he’s collaborating with curator Cozomo De Medici on an edition that pairs 25 mesmerizing physical prints with animated augmented-reality-enabled NFTs.
Stare into these wild patterns until you go cross-eyed (worth it).
Symbiogenesis
Mid November – @symbiogenesisPR
I've lived a thousand lifetimes since we first covered Symbiogenesis back in March.
Legendary game studio Square Enix once seemed like they were going all-in on Web3, but after delaying Symbio multiple times, and going relatively quiet on their plans in general, I get the feeling they might've pumped the brakes a bit.
We'll get a chance to see how serious they are this month when we finally get the first major Symbiogenesis mint.
This is an allowlist only drop, and they're still giving out spots through giveaways on X and Discord.
Avant Arte Drop by Alpha Centauri Kid
November TBD – @lphaCentauriKid
Last May, when seemingly everyone was too afraid to mint anything due to a certain green frog’s chokehold on ETH gas fees, Alpha Centauri Kid said fuck it and dropped The Broken Keys anyway.
The result? Over 700 ETH in sales.
Now, he’ll be gracing the Avant Arte printers and is teasing a 69 x 69 cm print (nice), which will most likely come with an NFT.
