Fibonacci sequences & Sat IDs

Settle down everyone, I know it’s been 72 hours since your last NFT mint update, but no need to run.

Is it time?
Bitcoin’s art market is facing a chicken-and-egg situation.
On one hand, there are no signs of a significant art collector base on Ordinals…yet.
PFP aficionados? Yes.
Meme connoisseurs? Sure.
Fine Art NFT enjoyooors? Not as much.
But at the same time, it’s not like many notable ETH artists are trekking over to offer their works in the first place. Outside of a couple of exceptions, we’ve seen very few cameos from the top 100-ish artists that NFT collectors typically fawn over.
Which is kind of crazy. This is Bitcoin we’re talking about, not some shilly rando L1 that might not exist in a year, and at the very least you get the benefit of putting your art fully onchain.
So why the hesitation?
Maybe a bit of perceived stigma: Ordinals have a reputation for hyping up anon PFPs and copy-paste collections, and artists might not want to associate themselves with that branding.
Some might also fear that collectors won’t follow them to another chain, which would be a problem if there aren’t enough new buyers to replace them.
But perception can (quickly) change. String together a few successful art drops in a row, and all of a sudden artists might have more confidence that there’s demand waiting for them.
Two drops releasing soon could tell us if Bitcoin art season is around the corner…
The Golden Ratio by Harto
Supply: 420 NFTs
Public mint price: 0.012 BTC
Date: December 4
A gen art collection structured around the Fibonacci sequence.
This is Harto’s second Bitcoin drop after SATS.
He also released some art on ETH before moving to Bitcoin, but this seems to be his biggest effort so far.
Unigraphs by Nicole Liu
Supply: 555 NFTs
Public mint price: 0.02 BTC
Date: November 29
A gen art collection where each unique Sat ID number determines the visuals.
Nicole previously released another popular Bitcoin collection called Abstraordinals.
(Coincidentally she’s also launching a separate PFP, which I find less interesting)
NOTE: These drops are lightly curated. Our only requirement is that they have recognizable founders. As usual, DYOR. To learn more go here.
Anti-Virus by BTC Machine & Bitcoin Wizards
For your eyes memes only.
BTC Machine, an ordinals project founded in late 2022, teams up with mavensbot for this low-supply collection.
mavensbot is the original creator of the Bitcoin Wizard meme, which has inspired many a crypto participant over the years, including arguably the biggest upcoming ordinals collection, Taproot Wizards. He doesn’t do these art collabs often, adding some exclusivity into the mix for this one.
That said, what you are mainly buying here is pixel art PFPs, and some of them are definitely shitpost-level. Nothing wrong with that. Just know what you’re diving into.
Evolution's Echoes by makeitrad
makeitrad, a pseudonymous LA-based artist with a long track record of releases on platforms like Foundation, gets his Mirage Gallery debut with Evolution’s Echoes.
The release brings us back in AI time, using GAN (alongside Diffusion) to create vibrant animation loops where organisms seamlessly morph into various shapes: an amoeba-looking-thing might turn into flowers, then a gemstone, followed by a piece of coral before looping.
One for OG AI art enthusiasts.
Magic Eden X GAM3S Free Mint
The transition from crypto boy to gamer boy has been real for a lot of the market over the past year, with many (myself included) arguing at one point or another that web3 gaming is the next big thing.
So why not take a curated free tour of that scene and possibly get rewarded for it in the process?
Content platform GAM3S has partnered with Magic Eden for this free mint that you can access by signing up and voting in the 2023 GAM3 awards. Just give your informed (or uninformed) take on the best games of the year and enter exclusive raffles for some goodies. ez clap.
MILK MARKET #4 by MILK
Pseudonymous artist MILK kind of blew up last month with NAMI, an AI art collection that has seen upwards of 300 ETH in volume traded. Despite this recent success, he’s continuing his prior digital art series, like MILK MARKET.
This upcoming edition should feature the same minimalist style that has carried the series so far and, if it follows past mechanics, should require prior editions in order to mint.
