Plus, new Verse drop from a collector favorite
GM
Mint or Skip is meant to be read (chanted) loudly around a campfire with loved ones.
I trust this has been obvious to most of you from the start.
In today’s edition:
New mystery drop from a legend
The Mint and Watch Lists
5 new drops (with 2 making the Lists)
More info on Mint/Watch lists HERE.
Did you know?
We have a premium pass that gives you access to a directory of every drop we cover, complete with detailed information on how to get on every whitelist (including those underrated ones that aren’t already full).
And for those curatooors out there, you can get free NFTs just by finding drops that end up on the Mint or Watch list.
Lastly, hang with me and the MoS team in a private discord with weekly voice chats. The vibes are great.
New mystery drop from a legend
There’s a scene in The Truman Show when Jim Carrey’s character notices his entire world is artificially put together for his own experience.
The objects are arranged purposely around him, the people are basically NPCs – it’s all a simulation.
I’ve kinda been getting that feeling all morning as I read about The Boys Of Summer, a mysterious upcoming drop on Wild.xyz which seems like it was made specifically for me.
All we really know so far is what is in this tweet:
A year in the making.
An interactive art game,
containing a PFP collection, producing a market performance.
And this tweet:
Beggars Belief: The Boys of Summer will be the FIRST EVER PFP collection with a dynamic "fecundity" attribute
And also this tweet which seems related:
Working on a PFP collection that lets you set your PFP's pancreatic elastase levels.
Gonna single-handedly save the whole damn market.
Interactive art game? PFP? Market performance? Fecundity (which means the ability to produce offspring and I totally didn’t have to look that up)?
Ser, you had my attention, but now you have my curiosity
Loyal readers know that I have a soft spot for interactive onchain experiences. I’ve written about how Time is one of my all-time favorite mechanics, and I’ve gushed over weird game theory design on more than one occasion.
These projects, which I like to call onchain spectacles, still make up a small percentage of the space. But I’m confident this will change, and I’m not the only one. (note to self, write a full post on onchain spectacles).
But The Boys of Summer isn’t interesting just because of some cryptic tweets.
The artist, Mitchell Chan, is a legendary name in crypto art history
An OG amongst OGs.
His first NFT collection, Digital Zones of Immaterial Pictorial Sensibility released on Ethereum in 2017 (!) and is perhaps the first piece of abstract performative crypto art. It still has a floor of 85 ETH today.
And now, six years later, he’s doing an entire series of interactive art called Beggars Belief, in which The Boys of Summer is the second official release.
Bottom line
Could be something, could be nothing - I’m compelled to watch either way.

Speedy 40 VIA Pharrell Williams
Are you a fashion mega whale? Did you purchase the €39,000 Louis Vuitton treasure trunk last month? Do you go “yes yes yes gang gang (grrrrr)” at the thought of Pharrell Williams? Do you have an extra €9,000 laying around?
If you answered “yes” to all of those, you’re in luck pal, cause I got just the mint for you: the Speedy 40 VIA Pharrell Williams collectible.
Unveiled just a couple of days ago, this 200-supply drop is only available for holders of the VIA Treasure Trunk, who receive an NFT copy of the bag upon purchase, with a physical claim date currently set for January 2024. This means your €39,000 NFT acts as a “VIP Ticket” for an option to purchase a €9,000 bag.
Now, I’m no fashionista (just a robe and some sandals for me), but I have consulted with more knowledgeable oracles and even they seem perplexed about the drop.
The Source by Camille Roux & Matthieu Segret
Watercolor-style generative art isn’t something you see too often.
But French artist duo Camille Roux and Matthieu Segret, active in web3 since late 2021 (mostly on fxhash), are looking to change that with The Source, a summery collection releasing later this month on gm.studio.
A year in the making, it will be sold through a public Dutch Auction as part of the studio’s Blind series, with a future print release already planned.
Starbucks Odyssey: Limited Edition Stamp
Out of all of Polygon’s legacy brand partners, Reddit surely has the #1 spot for the number of NFTs created, but Starbucks doesn’t fall too far behind. And the coffee colossus has just unveiled another limited edition stamp up for sale in two weeks.
As always, this drop is exclusive to participants who are in the US-only Starbucks Odyssey program, but with an additional requirement – complete three in-app “Journeys” (or missions) a couple of days before the drop.
While Starbucks’s web3 program is still one of the best examples of a web2 brand doing web3, I feel it’s time for them to either expand this program to a bigger consumer audience or cut back on the mint cadence.
After all, April’s The First Store stamp failed to sell out with the exact same price and supply as this one.
Verse Solos – Zach Lieberman
Verse, a digital art platform I’ve been mentioning a lot lately, keeps gaining ground in the art scene, having recently had its third highest-selling drop yet by Richard Nadler.
While we wait for more details about their Harvey Rayner release, we got more news on another curated Solos collection by Zach Lieberman.
Lieberman is a pioneer in the field, frequent exhibitor at various museums, co-founder of the openFrameworks coding toolkit and favorite among respected generative art collectors (check out his Foundation and SuperRare pages).
Even though we still lack a lot of information on this one, I’ve tentatively…
