Mystery drop from an OG

GM
Bitcoin hit an ATH. Here's an oldie but goodie that I've been saving for just the occasion.

Mystery drop from an OG (what we know)
Context
Nate Alex (a popular NFT collector, artist and all-around OG) has been slow-dripping info on his upcoming drop natives, which is still running campaigns on X for final mint spots.
Price: TBD
Supply: 729 NFTs
Mint date: late March
Chain: Ethereum
The current allowlist, which you can scroll here (disclosure: I’m on it), is a who’s who of builders, collectors and personalities from the world of non-fungibles.
Our take
Nate’s not the kind of guy to shill you on his latest project. Which is cool – I respect that.
But unfortunately, it means that you need to comb through endless posts and interviews for crumbs of info like you’re chasing horcruxes scattered across the seven kingdoms.
Luckily, thanks to my undying love for all my readers, I cleared my schedule and did the work.
Here’s what we know so far:
This is Crypto Hunger Games
Nate is building a 9-day social game experience where people join one of three tribes and compete against each other to win…something.
This includes several chapters with evolving storylines, 24 player types, an embedded chat component and an accumulation of decisions that impacts the final output of your NFT.
It’s a three-in-one bundle
Every mint will come with:
A digital game piece on Ethereum
A claim for a physical piece, hand-drawn by Nate himself
And a single Bitcoin ordinal matching the final art
It’s an Onchain Spectacle
Diligent readers will recall the term Onchain Spectacle, which we coined last year to refer to a new genre of limited-time experiences designed to go viral.
Sometimes they look like collab art projects, other times they’re gamified high-stakes tournaments or traditional game shows.
But the common thread is that they all shift the value to the present moment instead of some far-off roadmap.
Nate already found success down this road with his 2022 project Chainfaces Arena, where players competed in an onchain battleground for a 700 ETH grand prize.
And now he’s looking to run it back with a new idea designed to “change the way people think about NFTs and what they can do”.
Still waiting on price, but I’m intrigued.
✨ Top 25 ✨
NOTE: These drops are lightly curated. Our only requirement is that they have recognizable founders. As usual, DYOR. To learn more go here.
Kiraverse: The Box
Web3 third person shooter Kiraverse, in playable beta for a year and made by Abu Dhabi-based games studio Param Labs, will soon have a free mint for The Box.
They describe the collection as a “free entry into the vast Param Labs ecosystem” but haven’t clarified what this entails yet.
Regardless, at the low price of free and taking into account the studio’s recent Animoca Brands partnership, it might prove an enticing offer for gaming voyagers.
Webacy Safety Pass
With market prices soaring these past months, we can expect the frequency of scams to follow suit, which might help Webacy’s case for their Safety Pass mint.
It provides 2 years of access to their Pro plan at a ~50% discount, which features a host of security options like a panic button for those in the middle of getting rekt.
While I haven’t used the product myself, the team is fully doxxed and endorsed by major chains.
GolfN
Dearest Reader, I don’t hit the links often, but if mentions of birdies and bogeys get you riled up, maybe GolfN is for you.
At its core, this is a mobile app that the team has dubbed “the web3 digital caddie”, gamifying and rewarding real-world golf play through the use of GPS verification.
A set of Card NFTs will drop alongside its release, adding another layer of gamification through rarity, multipliers and collection completion milestones.
Pricing is unknown, but the team is doxxed and being advised by people you might recognize from notable crypto corners.
