🔥 MINTING TODAY

Krasis by Summer Wagner

More info on Mint/Watch lists HERE.

The Mint or Skip Genesis pass is coming soon.

You can register now to get it. All newsletter subs are on the WL!

It’s made for collectors who never want to miss another drop – what I wish I had when I was entering the NFT space.

HUGE UPDATE

You might be wondering why I’ve gathered you all here today on such short notice.

Surprise — it’s to talk about Mint or Skip and our upcoming pass. You know, the thing I spend 99% of my waking hours working on.

Specifically, O Dearly Beloved, I want to talk about WHY we’re so dialed in and what our vision is for all of this.

But first a little bit of lore around our origin story

As with many wonderful things in life, Mint or Skip was born out of frustration.

We’ve been obsessing over NFTs since early 2021 – and one thing that became clear to us early on was that, well, NFT discovery sucks.

Straight-up garbage.

You’ll find better systems for reviewing picnic baskets and back scratchers than NFT drops – which is insane given that people often spend the equivalent of a midwestern mansion on a single JPEG.

And thus, with a twinkle in our eyes, we set out to fix it. It began one year ago with a curated drop calendar shared in the Midnight Labs private discord and then expanded into this free newsletter.

The newsletter is made to give you the What and the Why. You’ll find out what drops are coming out, and why you should maybe care about them.

The Genesis Pass will focus more on the How. How can you get on these whitelists, how can you keep track of all the mint details, how can you make sure you never miss a drop?

We’re bringing you three main features

1. THE BFS (big f*cking spreadsheet)

The BFS is a mint and WL tracker. It’s a huge directory with every single NFT that we write about in the newsletter.

My favorite feature: being able to sort drops that have an active WL and then finding out how to actually get on it, including links to sign-up sheets, giveaways, and events.

It starts with Ethereum, but soon we plan to expand to other chains as well.

There’s also a companion report with WL updates for those who aren’t into spreadsheets.

2. Curate-to-earn

It’s simple: find cool drops → earn NFTs.

We’ve been doing this for over a year now and have given out thousands of dollars worth of NFTs. It’s as easy as giving us a Twitter link for a drop that we end up putting on a curated list!

We plan to give out up to 250 NFTs to Mint or Skip token holders during this first year. That’s potentially 1 for every ~3 people who mint a pass.

I really think this is the future of crowdsourced curation.

3. Private discord

Yes, we’re going to have a private club. I’ll be there, the whole team will be there, it’ll be fun, it’ll be weird, and we’ll be discussing drops daily all year.

We’ll also have a weekly call where you can make custom requests and have us review any specific drops you’re watching.

4. Bonus

Theoretically, if we release a second annual pass next year (not promising one yet), Genesis Pass holders would get first dibs.

The Deets

  • Price: 0.088 eth for a 1-year pass

  • Supply: 800 initial sale and ~40 free tokens for referral campaign winners. Plus up to 250 for curate-to-earn rewards given to holders over 12 months.

  • Date: Tuesday, May 16th. Exact time TBD.

  • WL: Open until Sunday, May 14th at 7pm ET. Sign up here.

NOTE: These drops are lightly curated. Our only requirement is that they have recognizable founders. As usual, DYOR. To learn more go here.

Meme Card #97 - Matt Doogue

The 6529 Memes collection is showcasing macro photography, an underexplored genre in the NFT art space, with their upcoming Friday release of Card #97 by Matt Doogue.

We expect them to release the official mint details tomorrow, with their usual 0.06529 ETH mint price and an allowlist based on collector holdings. For a sneak peek of what the collection might look like check out Matt’s Foundation.

MoMA - Unsupervised - Data Universe Burn by Refik Anadol

Refik Anadol, perhaps the NFT artist with the most institutional recognition right now, just unveiled a burn mechanic for his collection Unsupervised - Data Universe - MoMA. Current works will transform into new physical and digital pieces from the 19th to the 21st of May.

Done in collaboration with the MoMA and digital platform Feral File, this marks Anadol’s 2nd step in his 2023 roadmap.

Given the prominence of the artist and institutions involved we’ve…
