Plus, an art card game
GM
Today I minted a Rainbow World Citizen as part of Onchain Summer on base (highlighted Friday):
Here we see my Citizen sporting a tasteful Toadini headgear and Bonk face combo, with Calm Water pants, a zesty Necromancer top, and Sunday Morning slippers.
so chic
In today’s edition:

Links for the Mint/Watch list drops are HERE.
Did you know?
We have a premium pass that gives you access to a directory of every drop we cover, complete with detailed information on how to get on every whitelist (including those underrated ones that aren’t already full).
And for those curatooors out there, you can get free NFTs just by finding drops that end up on the Mint or Watch list.
Lastly, hang with me and the MoS team in a private discord with weekly voice chats. The vibes are great.

Context
0xDeafbeef, one of the most in-demand crypto artists in recent times, revealed more information on his upcoming collection yesterday in Discord.
TLDR:
This is a collaboration with Bright Moments Gallery
The drop is centered around an IRL minting experience in Patagonia
Minters will receive a physical object and a dynamic NFT that changes over time
Supply is likely 100 NFTs, 50% will be given in Patagonia, and the other 50% will go to existing Bright Moments and 0xDeafbeef collectors
Auction in mid-September, Patagonia event in November
To go (much) deeper on the mechanics, see here:
Our take
In last week’s episode of This is definitely not a cult:
Sam Spratt enjoyooors minted $1 million worth of NFTs and have since been submitting devotional poetry in a competition judged by the “Council of Luci”, which will result in three winners receiving six-figure NFTs and a spot on the council.
In this week’s episode:
0xDeafbeef followers will soon travel to Patagonia to obtain physical artifacts with cryptographic hashes engraved on the back, letting them claim an NFT that will continuously fade over time unless they “refresh” it every year for 10 years, at which point the NFT becomes immortal.
Yes, NFT mfers would rather trek to Argentina for minting ceremonies than go to therapy.
And I love it.
I mean, imagine running an NFT newsletter and being against these kinds of experiences.
In fact, Dear Reader, from now on I refuse to mint a goddamn thing unless I’m first asked to recite incantations while staring deep into a shaman’s eyes as he slowly guides my hand to my Metamask.
Bottom line
0xDeafbeef is the king of time-based mechanics.
His art is designed to be enjoyed over a period of not just years but decades.
Sometimes even longer. This experience is 10+ years long – quite short compared to his more recent Chronophotographs, which takes place over millennia.
He also relies heavily on autonomous and immutable logic that can only really be guaranteed with smart contracts. It’s a perfect sales pitch for why blockchain art is here to stay.
In this case, we’re once again getting very cutting-edge digital technology, but it’s grounded with physical talismans being handed out in one of the most beautiful places on Earth.
All this makes him a crowd favorite (with the crowd being wealthy and nerdy crypto art whales).
AND a Mint or Skip favorite as well (hence why his drops routinely make our Mint List).
We don’t know the price yet, but given the low 100-piece supply and physical + digital nature of the drop, our completely speculative guess is that this will be in the 5-10 ETH range.
Expect to hear more soon.

NOTE: These drops are lightly curated. Our only requirement is that they have recognizable founders. As usual, DYOR. To learn more go here.
Onchain Summer x OpenSea
Today, OpenSea takes the stage as one of the last acts of Base’s Onchain Summer with an art drop featuring 4 creators with different styles:
As usual, these are open editions priced at an affordable 0.009 ETH ($15) – a great opportunity for anyone who has been looking to acquire work from these artists.
Umbra by Reuben Wu
Closing out this month’s ClickCreate drops (curated by funghibull) is Reuben Wu with his piece, Umbra.
The art showcases Wu’s signature landscape work, which has attracted many a respected collector and renowned institutions like the MoMa.
SubPass holders will get first dibs on the 300 editions.
Night Garden by tiffatronn
Floor just announced the sixth edition of their ICONS program: Night Garden by Australian artist tiffatronn.
The piece features the artist’s signature hand-drawn style and colorful imagery, one that has enticed multiple collectors on Foundation and SuperRare.
Like previous ICONS, Night Garden will be sold as an open edition exclusively on the Floor app, and it will grant minters a custom in-app theme.
Cartae Series 3: The Gods
This one’s for the emerging art enthusiasts.
Cartae is a series of onchain trading cards created by pseudonymous artist diid (known for his pixel art). Each season features multiple art editions sold via sealed packs, with each pack containing a handful of editions.
As someone who spent his childhood opening card packs, this sounds like a very fun collecting experience.
For Series 3, diid is collaborating with 8 more artists for a fully onchain pixel art drop, including popular Tezos creators like MEK.txt and Spøgelsesmaskinen.
