Plus, some Ordinals debuts
GM
Finally dropped my first Power Rangers reference after writing this newsletter for over a year.
Feels like a weight lifted off my shoulders.

The coming Anime Token meta
Context
San Frantokyo, an Animoca Brand subsidiary company, is launching their anticipated Visions PFP collection today.
Supply: 8,000 PFPs
Price: free for pass holders; up to 0.12 ETH for public
Chain: Ethereum
Visions are minting on the MagicEden launchpad and will trade there exclusively with a royalty-enforcing contract.
Our take
SanFranTokyo is like the Megazord of all the NFT metas mixed together.
You have the classic large supply anime PFP (the past), with points that lead to tokens (the present), ultimately leading to network goods and physical toys with digital twins (the future).
A few reasons why weebs are excited
They like the team. It’s a fully doxxed squad that includes the CEO of Animoca Japan. The bet is that they’ll execute at a higher level than the market currently gives them credit for.
They like the token. It’s all but confirmed that $MANGA is coming this year through Animoca as part of their new Anime Foundation. Holding these NFTs lets you farm points (AniRep) through different activities, and these points will likely boost your token allocation.
They…like anime. San FranTokyo is positioning itself as the entry point for all future anime brands coming onchain. They plan to partner with these brands on new experiences and physical products, and collectors will get discounts or perks when these release.
But they’re not alone
There’s another competing ecosystem spinning the same narrative called AnimeCoin, which has its very own token plus an early partnership with Azuki.
They also have this cool site, the anime.xyz domain, and the $ANIME token name. Sounds like the setup for an epic battle?
Tinfoil hat: Interestingly though, AnimeCoin is one of the only accounts that San Frantokyo is currently following on X. Are they just doing a little competitive research, or is there maybe something else cooking?
NOTE: These drops are lightly curated. Our only requirement is that they have recognizable founders. As usual, DYOR. To learn more go here.
Revealed
Transient Labs and Claire Silver have curated this Arbitrum art drop featuring five emerging AI artists working with widely ranging themes, from cyberpunk to baroque.
It’s the first Revealed drop in a longer-running series, showcasing artists that might be familiar to collectors entrenched in the 1/1 art market: benedict, Solyaev, Aloner One, Ni Petrov, and Petra Voice.
One for those keen on taking the plunge into uncharted AI art waters.
Human by Yue Minjun
Another day, another platform jumping on the Ordinals train.
LiveArt, known for working at the intersection of traditional art and crypto art, has announced Yue Minjun’s upcoming release, Human.
While many details are still missing, this Ordinals debut could make a compelling case in the market given that Human looks like an artistic follow-up to Boundless, Minjun’s last collection and LiveArt’s most commercially successful NFT release.
beeings by bee
Pseudonymous artist bee makes their Ordinals debut with this small indie PFP collection.
Featuring a black-and-white (and Bitcoin orange) sketch style, beeings strays from bee’s past Pepe inspirations, and instead focuses on original characters and pop culture references – like BTC maxi Darth Vader, because why not?
This one’s got a ton of references to Bitcoin prices, making it one for the chart watchers.
