I have a feeling a few of you are coming from the land of Bitcoin.
I’ll just say that I love all my readers equally, regardless of what decentralized database they pray to.

People are about to spend millions on this
Another day, another stop on the Ordinals hype train.
Sitting by your bedside window, in the quiet of the night, you might catch a glimpse of this train passing through. It has visited quite a few stops already:
Bitcoin Rocks
…
Ordinal Punks
…
Twelvefold
…
Bitcoin DeGods
…
Ordinal Maxi Biz
…
Each stop gives the train a little more juice – but also more skeptics claiming that we’ve reached max speed (aka a “top” in attention). Eventually, like a broken clock, they’ll be right.
But maybe not yet, because on Friday we learned about the next big Ordinals moment: a 111-supply drop from Memeland, arguably a top 5 NFT ecosystem on Ethereum.
The details are simple
Memeland has a stash of 119 You The Real MVP NFTs.
They are “teleburning” 111 of these on Bitcoin. Typically this means creating an ETH burn address in an inscription ID and then sending the NFT to that burn address – therefore linking the two and thus “migrating” the NFT to Bitcoin.
There’s still no price, but we know it’ll be “expensive”. My guess is that we’re talking at least 2 BTC, so def not for anyone sitting in the nosebleed section.
This is a big move. In the past, we’ve seen companies like Yuga Labs jump to Bitcoin for experimental art drops but without any large repercussions for their primary collections.
You can think of them more like side-quests.
But here, Memeland is taking their most valuable collection, the MVPs, and sending 1/4th of the supply to Bitcoin.
They’re calling it a $10m teleburn
It’s closer to Yuga sending like a thousand Bored Apes to Bitcoin and making plans to share cross-chain utility with them.
And that comparison isn’t as crazy as you might think: the floor price on MVPs is actually higher than BAYC, currently at ~63ETH (with a much smaller supply obvi).
The cynical view would be that this is Memeland’s best chance at “cashing in” their supply without the FUD that they’d get from selling these on Ethereum. Maybe, maybe not. But either way, it’s a huge vote of confidence that Bitcoin NFTs are here to stay.
BTW - this announcement came a day before a CryptoPunk was purchased for $95,000 and then promptly teleburned as part of some ritual for Bitcoin Bandits.
Why? Because (1) it’s provocative and (2) it gets the people going. Don’t overthink it.
Final thoughts
Memeland will make millions of dollars
The Ordinals community will get its largest utility token
And every other ETH creator will be debating if they should be next

NOTE: These drops are lightly curated. Our only requirement is that they have recognizable founders. As usual, DYOR. To learn more go here.
Bean Monger by James Jean
Renowned Taiwanese-American artist James Jean teams up with Azuki for Bean Monger, a token-locked art edition dropping this Tuesday celebrating the anime brand’s Follow The Rabbit event.
The drop is exclusively available for Azuki and Fragments holders, with cryptic hints suggesting there may be hidden surprises in store.
6529 Meme Card #114 – Laura El
This Wednesday’s Meme Card could be a special one. Illustrator Laura El takes the stage, likely featuring her cozy urban designs which have enthralled many a collector.
The release follows the familiar 6529 model, with an allowlist determined by collector holdings and a mint price of 0.06529 ETH.
Illuvium x DeQuest Summer NFT
DeQuest, a GameFi discovery platform known for its reward-based reputation layer in web3 games, is dropping a free NFT this Wednesday as part of the Illuvium Summer collaborative event.
NFT holders can participate in exclusive quests until June 30th, earning bonus points on the DeQuest platform, which can then be exchanged for game items or raffle entries.
Tonic Season 2
Although season 2 for generative art platform Tonic already started last month with Iskra Velitchkova’s ESCAPE, they’ve recently announced more drops featuring familiar faces.
I’ll be keeping an eye out for more details, given the platform’s recent successes.
