October drops I’m watching closely

Presenting every October drop in our Top 25…

Agglo by Leander Herzog

October 2 – @lennyjpg

Colorful pixelated animations run endlessly, with a special feature: own several of these and they’ll synchronize with universal time (time-based mechanics, anyone?)

This should be particularly appealing to anyone who loves dynamic, browser-based works (think Terraforms, Cargo or anything else featured on ArtTab)

Bright Moments Buenos Aires Collection

October 3 – @brtmoments

Bright Moments is coming to tango in city #8 on their worldwide roadmap, Buenos Aires.

The auctions will feature ten generative artists (with a clear emphasis on Latinos).

There’s also a Golden Token up for sale right now, for those looking for that fancy VIP experience come the November event (as well as other benefits).

Matt Kane RarePass Airdrop

October 3 –  @SuperRare

The SuperRare RarePass, which originally minted for 17 ETH, is one of the most exclusive (and expensive) art collectives in the space.

And they keep finding good ways to justify it.

This month’s collab is none other than Matt Kane, a hugely popular generative artist who is coming off of a set of auctions that sold for more than 169 ETH just last week.

Keep in mind that you’ll need to hold a RarePass (~10 ETH floor) and that there's only one more drop for holders, XCOPY.

MoMA Postcard

October 3 – @MuseumModernArt

The MoMA, one of the most influential art museums in the world, is going onchain.

This time they’re launching an interactive NFT collection with fifteen popular crypto artists including Casey Reas, Dmitri Cherniak and Grant Yun.

They’re calling this an “accessible” experience, which is usually code for low price/high supply, but the final details are still TBD.

The World's Largest

October 3 – @worldslargest_

This new VC-backed drop studio wants to be the MSCHF of Web3.

The plan is simple: launch viral drops and onchain experiences every few weeks until everyone and their mother knows their name.

Then they’ll follow this up with a free “Genesis” collection early next year.

Their first drop is a 24-hour open edition launching on Base. We don’t know much else about it.

because unless until by Ixnay

October 11 – @ixnayokay

We love time-based mechanics here at Mint or Skip HQ, and here we have one of the most unique implementations we’ve seen in a while.

This Art Blocks Curated collection includes eight “animation sets” with psychedelic pixelated visuals.

These animations will be in constant flux, changing subtly daily, monthly and with more dramatic “special events” designed to keep collectors in a state of ongoing anticipation.

For a lot more behind-the-scenes detail on the tech and vision, check this writeup from the artist.

Bit Rot by Nahiko

October TBD – @Nahiiko

Pseudonymous onchain tinkerer Nahiko recently announced their next art project, Bit Rot, a collaboration with renowned collector DAO Fingerprints.

This artist has been releasing interesting work since 2021, including Entropy, a fully onchain collection that visualized Ethereum blocks through a time-based mechanic (we know those get me going).

Fingerprints are running hot after selling out Web by Jan Robert Leegte, although that quickly fell below its mint price on secondary markets. Could Bit Rot keep the secondary markets entertained for longer?

Intimacy by William Mapan

October TBD@williamapan

One of the most sought-after artists in the generative space right now will make his Verse debut this October with Intimacy.

The collection is split into two series: Sketchbook A (example here) and Through Your Eyes (example here). They have distinct styles but both evoke similar nostalgic memories of childhood drawings.

A Mapan 1/1 with a very similar look to Sketchbook A sold at Christie’s last July for 15 ETH to renowned collector VincentVanDough, perhaps highlighting the market’s appetite for this style.
