The most hyped NFTs coming in April

Plus, we have a special announcement

GM

Yesterday Frankdegods celebrated the y00ts migration to Polygon by buying over 100 ETH of Ethereum NFTs.

Bored Apes, Azukis, Cryptodickbutts, the whole gang.

You love to see it — by our calculations he just needs to do this 251 more times in the next 14 days to kickstart the next bull run.

Also, shout out to the 3,900 new subs that joined since Monday, you got here in time to hear some good news (more below).

WE HAVE A BIG ANNOUNCEMENT

What do you do when NFT volume plummets and google search traffic looks something like this:

Do you:

  1. Become a Chat GPT influencer helping people write prompts to build the perfect waifu personal assistant

  2. Disconnect and travel the world as a vagabond sharing stories of gas wars and rugpulls from days gone by

  3. Double down

Well for us the answer is clear, we’re gonna double down. Maybe even quintuple-down.

First, we started with a Monday newsletter. Then we added Thursdays. And now, starting next week, you’ll be seeing us in your inbox with the latest drops EVERY SINGLE DAY (M-F).

That’s right, every morning you’ll be getting:

  • Upcoming mints

  • Curated calendars

  • News/drama/shenanigans

Now you might ask, why the change?

Look, we have a simple goal: We want to be the go-to place to hear about upcoming NFTs. Anything that gets us closer in that direction is a W.

And as you may know, NFTs never sleep. Drops are announced every single day.

So can we really be the best place for drop news if we’re only giving updates 2x/week? Probably not.

You might not realize, but we go through 100+ drops every week.

And going forward we’ll start sending out the best ones every day as they come in – which means you’re going to find drops earlier.

I know, I know, we love you too.

THE MOST HYPED DROPS COMING IN APRIL

Next month is starting to look spicy.

DenDekaDen

April 1 -5

The first PFP from a new IP co-owned by Toei Animation.

They recently lowered their public mint price from 0.29 to 0.0777 and the crowd went wild. We think this pretty much guarantees a sell-out, and it’s great to see the team is flexible enough to react to their community.

Iron Paw Gang

April 3

An innovative and polished looking PFP released by Random Character Collective (remember Invisible Friends) and AdamApe (second highest grossing artist on Solana).

They’re bringing over a huge fan base from Solana, but at the same time we don’t know if this kind of PFP hits in the same way it used to.

Fellowship 1

April 6

AI Art has cooled off a bit in the last couple of weeks after an insane run. But we still think this genre is just getting started and Fellowship is the next big drop we’re watching.

Specifically get ready for :

  1. "REWORLD", the next collection from Roope Rainisto (the top selling AI photography artist).

  2. A group of emerging AI artists scouted by Roope.

“gurt corp” by Defaced

April 6

An artist with a long track record in the NFT space ranging all the way back to late 2020, Defaced was largely MIA during 2022 in terms of new NFT releases but now he’s back in 2023 with gurt corp. The project’s been slowly rolling out for the past month or so with some physical sketches on twitter that we think are honestly quite good.

“ALTS” by Adidas

March 27th - April 13th

The third and final phase of the Adidas NFT roadmap originally started in December 2021. It finally looks to be some sort of PFP only available to those that burn a Phase 1 or Phase 2 NFT before NFT NYC.

It's hard to ignore a huge brand like Adidas, even if the execution so far has not been a knockout.

All we can hope is that the PFP art is better than Puma’s and, if we are making requests, a little more aesthetically pleasing than the recent claimable fluorescent merch.

“Voyager” by DisruptedStar

April 17

We always find it interesting when a generative artist with a long track record on Tezos (particularly fxhash) finally gets noticed by ETH overlord senpai Art Blocks and makes a jump to Ethereum.

I guess when the biggest gen art platform calls, you answer.

Such is the case for DisruptedStar, who’s going to be releasing his genesis ETH collection “Voyager”, a 300 supply Art Blocks Presents drop that features some of the best space-themed gen art that we’ve seen in a long while.

To the moon! (just a space joke, chairman Gensler.)

Moonbirds Mythics

April 17

We were more hyped about Mythics a couple of months ago, but the Proof/Moonbirds brand has since fallen off a cliff.

Still - these could bring much needed life back into the IP, and we do think they look cool.

Proof Diamond

April 18

As we said, the Proof team has had a bad start to 2023.

Part of that comes down to holders feeling they’re not getting rewarded enough for diamond handing their birds (they call it nesting).

Enter Proof Diamond, an art drop for holders that have been staked since day one. The team insists they’re going all out for this one, and they hope it’ll win people’s trust back.

Hard to confirm until we see the full artist lineup, but maybe we give them the benefit of the doubt?

Wildcard Genesis

April 20

Guest curator Kevin Lambert covered it in our last release, but we are excited for the future of Wildcard as one of the better-looking gaming projects coming soon. Why?

Well, apart from having raised $46M in 2022, being in development years before they pivoted to web3, and looking more polished than 90+% of web3 games out there, it just looks fun. You know, how actual games should look?

Symbiogenesis

April TBD

We covered Square Enix’s new on-chain social game a few weeks ago. No huge updates recently outside of WL opportunities being handed out through twitter and discord.

Generally this still represents the first major swing in web3 from a AAA gaming publisher.

If they nail it, this could convince other publishers to jump in. If they flop, well, you’ll see another round of headlines mocking the space.

Feels like a big moment.

Reddit Gen 3

April TBD

They’re up to 60+ revealed artists now including big names like Chris Torres, the creator behind Nyan Cat.

We’re getting more hyped as it seems like Reddit is taking these avatars more seriously than ever before.

If they release their marketplace with in-app trading alongside gen 3 then we could see awareness and excitement grow well beyond anything else on our list.

Otherside: Legends of Mara Vessels

April TBD

Well, well, well, what do we have here? Another 100k supply to add to the Bored Ape Yacht Club ecosystem? Seems like it.

Yuga made the surprise announcement about Legends of Mara through a Twitter thread on Monday, describing it as a 2D collection-based strategy game that will feature Kodas (soon to be decoupled from their land plots) and “Vessels” that can be claimed for free by every Otherdeed holder.

Feels somewhat like a side-quest, but Yuga drops always shake up the space.

PLUS, uhh whatever this is...
