The "100 drops in 10 days" challenge
Plus, a huge announcement from Frankdegods
GM
Today we’re introducing a segment called New Drops. These are hot-off-the-press ETH NFTs that we found in the last 24 hours.
Keep in mind that we’re giving you our first impressions, NOT endorsements. The only requirement for a New Drop is that they have recognizable founders (either doxxed or anons with a long track record).
So you’ll find some good projects there, great even, and you’ll find them early, but you may also see some stinkers given that we’re casting a wider net – c’est la vie. As usual, DYOR.
From time to time you may also see something called a “FEATURED DROP”.
These are projects that we actually do think are more exciting than usual, and often these will get added to our Watch or Mint lists as well.
So now we’ll be delivering you three main things every day:
New Drops: a first look into the latest projects announced
Curated Drops: an updated list of our favorite upcoming drops
News & Hot Takes
And all you have to do, Dearest Reader, is sit there and look pretty.
🔥 MINTING TODAY:
IronPawGang [Mint List #8]
ZOGZ EDITIONS
A couple of weeks ago we wrote about the return of Matt Furie, the creator of Pepe the Frog, the meme king himself, and why we were excited about his ZOGZ Pepe open edition drop.
Unfortunately the event was soured by a bad contract which allowed people to mint endlessly for free (oops). But collectors got a re-do the following week and 28,000 were minted correctly.
Now ZOGZ are getting an expansion. But instead of a single drop, we’re now getting, uhh, ONE HUNDRED open editions across 10 days, each for 0.01234 eth.
So everyday you’ll see 10 characters, in 10 different open editions, for two weeks straight since it’s only Mon - Fri.
It’s also way more gamified than the first drop. They set it up as a throwback to old-school collectibles from the 80s and 90s (including Pogs, obviously) where you can combine different sets in a variety of ways. In this case:
Collect all ZOGZ from the same family (there are 10) → get a special family airdrop
Collect all family airdrops → get a bonus Zoggy Pepe airdrop
Collect all 100 airdrops → “HOLY SHIT!”
By the way, that last one was his words not ours. Interpret that how you will.
But ok – let’s keep it real, 90% of artists wouldn’t be able to get away with releasing 100 open editions in 10 days. You’d hear people yell “cash grab” and “oversupply” pretty quickly, and that’s just the PG13 version.
But…
We need to be more open-minded about what NFTs can be. If physical collectibles like Pokemon cards can sell millions of packs and launch new sets of characters every year, why can’t digital collectibles experiment with different mint and supply mechanics too?
It’s Matt Furie. Did I mention he made Pepe?
Added to Mint List #10
NOTE: these drops are lightly curated. Our only requirement is that they have doxxed founders. As usual, DYOR. To learn more go here.
The first NFT project from artist Trevor Paglen, who previously has shown at various museums around the globe.
This is an Art Blocks project in collaboration with Pace Gallery, and includes 250 audiovisual pieces being sold through a DA ranging from 5 to 0.25 eth on April 5th.
Music NFTs haven’t taken off as much as some people expected, but the artist’s track record makes this more interesting.
Another Art Blocks X Pace Gallery collaboration set to launch on June 21st with a supply of 195 NFTs.
John Gerrard was the artist that started these collaborations in the first place with his work “Petro National”.
This drop seems to expand on the themes from his previous work, which we do enjoy, so we’ll keep an eye on this one.
A collection of 512 NFTs launching on sovrn.art on April 4th as part of their “Open” series.
Before this, ricky collaborated with Van Arman on miniPODs and bitGAN Collabs.
The art depicted here is akin to post-photography, exhibiting a series of animations showing portraits of women that shift slightly with each passing frame. Unsettling but hard to look away.
A play-to-earn zombie apocalypse game, coming out with a 10k genesis character NFT mint in April at a price of 0.075 ETH.
Investors include Animoca Brands along with a few other funds, but it hasn’t picked up a ton of momentum despite being close to the mint date.
The first project incubated by Magic Batch Collective, which is a group that’s backed directly by Polygon.
Pluto is focused on bringing social experiences to web3, with an economy designed to reward these kinds of interactions.
If the Polygon BD team is involved in any way then this could be interesting.
Another drop teased by Magic Batch Collective.
This one is an art collab with Tyler Foust, most notably known in the space for his Reddit avatars work.
Still early with very few details released so far.
One more drop from Art Blocks X Pace Gallery, this time with storied sculptor Maya Lin.
Maya has a long list of notable works, particularly in the historic memorial category, but we’ll wait and see how the mint details shape up later on.

It's time to start the next chapter.

The DeGods team added a little airdrop teaser (bottom right-hand corner of the image in the Tweet) then followed up with a confirmation in a town hall this weekend. It’s coming.
We always get some of the most memorable quotes during airdrop announcements.
Yuga Labs: “Fuck it. Mutants Saturday”
Azuki: “Oh, one more thing, check your wallets.”
Frank: “I’m taking off to go to Palm Springs with the team…Airdrop coming soon.”
Either Frank emerges from this desert adventure with a new groundbreaking side-character NFT or he experiences a little too much of reality and goes on a soul-searching tour spreading loving-kindness around the world.
It’s a coin toss really!
